Prohibited Steps Orders

A prohibited steps order can be described as a court order preventing an individual from taking certain actions on a child, regardless of whether they have parental responsibility. This type of order can be used to prevent a parent from changing the school of a child or taking the child abroad. Prohibited steps orders can be used to resolve other issues, and they include the following:

  • Preventing a parent from letting the child associate with an individual or group
  • Prohibiting a parent from changing the surname of the child
  • Preventing a parent from changing the child’s location
  • Prohibiting a particular medical treatment for a child

Only people named in a child residence order can apply for a prohibited steps order without seeking permission from the court to do so. These people include Parents, step-parents with parental responsibility, guardians, and special guardians. It also important to note that prohibited steps order is limited for a definite length of time or until the child is 16 years of age or until the child is 18 years of age. Privilege Solicitors can help both parents to work through their difference and reach a resolution, by arranging a Family Mediation, without resorting to the courts. Child Support & Maintenance

When couples with children less than 18 years of age or over 18 but still reliant on the parents due to special needs or other reasons, make a decision to separate or divorce, then it is required for them to make provision for the children daily needs. Paying child support and maintenance is a legal responsibility and it is usually paid by the parent who is not responsible for the children day-to-day care.

Most parents can decide to reach an agreement on the amount and type amount of child support between both parties. If you cannot agree, or if an arrangement between parents isn’t working, there are other ways to arrange child maintenance. You could apply to the child maintenance service, which can set up an arrangement for you. We can assist you through the process.

However, if both parties cannot come into agreements, they can apply to child support and maintenance service. Privilege Solicitors can provide assistance through this process. We will also provide assistance in negotiating an agreement that’s best for the child, and make application to the Court, if necessary. 5 star review  I have used the service before and this was the reason I used again because the service Privilege Solicitors has provided was impeccable. I also have recommended others to use their services. They have acted professionally in dealing with my matters and kept me updated with my claim. The members of the staff were very polite and courteous. It is hard to find a company these days who are prompt and top of their games.
